Facility Renovations

Over the summer of 2024 Paintsville High School, with the help of boosters, began renovations on the baseball field and basketball court. In the summer of 2023 Paintsville High School finished the redesign and rebuild of the football field. Paintsville High School decided to build new dugouts, new bleachers, add protective netting and build an all new locker room for baseball players. As for the basketball court, the school decided to redesign the court floor. Both of these projects are making more progress by the day.
The Paintsville Tigers rise up and conquer the Floyd Central Jaguars 46-6

After an upsetting loss in the 2023 season against the Jaguars, 28-22, the Tigers made a comeback for the 2024 season by defeating Floyd Central in the first game of the season. Player of the game, Anderson Lauffer, had an outstanding performance by scoring 3 touchdowns. Lauffer ran for 207 yards and had one interception. Quarterback Alex Johnson also had an astonishing game. Johnson had 281 yards, scored 4 touchdowns, and a rush touchdown. Friday, August 30th, the Paintsville Tigers take on the Paris Greyhounds, as it will be their first home game of the season. After a tough loss against the Greyhounds in the 2023 season, the Paintsville Tigers look for a win Friday to advance to 2-0.
Paintsville Boy’s Soccer and Trey Stafford

The Paintsville boys’ soccer team makes an astonishing comeback this year with a current record of 4 wins this season! In a game against Morgan County on August 26, 2024, Trey Stafford tied the current school record for the highest amount of goals scored in one game. The amount of goals was 6, which was previously made by Brad Nordin in 2013. It’s been 9 years since such a feat has been accomplished, and when asking Stafford how he felt in that moment he recalled, “I was proud of myself.” Paintsville High School congratulates Stafford on his accomplishment and can’t wait to see what else he accomplishes in his senior year!
